Advocacy for Student Digital Civil Rights – ZINASU actively advocates for policies and regulations that protect digital civil rights. We engage with policymakers, government agencies, and technology companies to influence legislation and practices that respect privacy, foster free expression, and promote digital inclusivity.
Digital Literacy and Security – We believe in equipping students with the necessary digital literacy and security skills to navigate the complexities of the digital world. Through workshops, trainings, and educational initiatives, we have capacitated over 20 000 students and hundreds of community members to be responsible digital citizens, safeguarding their rights and privacy online.
Awareness Campaigns – ZINASU conducts impactful awareness campaigns to educate students and the broader community about the importance of digital civil rights. By raising awareness about surveillance, data protection, online discrimination, and censorship, we foster a culture of digital rights consciousness and activism.
Policy Research and Analysis – To drive evidence-based advocacy, ZINASU utilizes it’s broad membership base of over 180 000 students to conduct in-depth research and analysis on digital rights issues. Legal Support and Assistance – ZINASU through affiliate partners, refer legal support and assistance to students whose digital civil rights have been violated. We work closely with legal experts/organizations to offer guidance, resources, and referrals, ensuring that victims of online harassment, privacy breaches, or discrimination receive the necessary assistance and representation.
