Terms of Reference

As an intern in the Communications and Outreach team, you will work under the supervision of the Team Lead, gaining valuable insights into the UN’s communication strategies. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Regularly updating social media platforms with engaging content.
  • Drafting communication materials such as marketing emails, newsletters, and web content.
  • Supporting the execution of communication campaigns, events, and outreach activities.
  • Assisting in drafting press releases, speeches, and articles.
  • Providing administrative support and performing other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Education:

  • Enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. program, or in the final year of a Bachelor’s program, or within one year after graduation.
  • Field of study: Communications, public relations, languages, journalism, or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in communications and public relations is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with professional social media platforms is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the UN is beneficial but not mandatory.

Language Competencies:

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English is required.
  • Proficiency in another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an advantage.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
